The Steam Box

One project down today.  I have something else started but this was closer to done than it is.  I drilled a hole in the side and put a windup key, then filled the box with gears and tickets and bits of metal.  I covered it with black netting and added a few words I liked the looks of.  I like it.

Le Cirque stacking box

Bought this plain wooden Halloween stacking box @ Michaels after Halloween.  I made it into a circus themed trinket box.  I had to scraplift a couple of cool ideas from Susie @ Creative Cafe and now it looks really good!  Thanks Susie for all your inspiration!

The Steampunk Cabinet

Another Goodwill find, transformed by G45 Steampunk Debutante and DCWV Tattered Time.  I painted the cabinet black on the outside, added a lot of paper, stamps and glitter, then used an old crystal clock dome (face, cover?) filled with some gears and clock junk (clunk?) and glued that on the front.  Inside it has a corkboard for notes and shelves for all kinds of steamy things!!  I still have a bit of finishing to do, but I like it so far.

BBC America Sherlock

Getting ready for Media West convention!  Here's one of my first creations.  I bought this frame at Goodwill - I love the little swivel foot detail.  It reminds me of one of those stand up mirrors, only it's just 6 inches tall.

Another mini topper!

I painted this one with metallic craft paint, the gold ribbon is really streamers I picked up off the theater floor when we saw Hairspray  in the West End last time I was in London.  I added a keyhole, a feather, some lace and brads.  I like the way it turned out!

Steampunk coffee cup hat

Yes, I have been making more steampunk coffee cup hats.  I had to make a bunch of them for work (we're all doing steampunk at the library) so I made myself a cool purple one.  I was on vacation in Washington Dc a couple of weeks ago and they had these coffee cups in the room that were corrugated.   I just knew it would make a cool hat so I took one home with me!  I painted it with metallic purple paint, added ribbon and feathers and a really awesome medallion thing I got on sale at Michaels.  Here it is - it just needs the headband hot glued onto the bottom and I am good to go!

And it's a cool wedge shape!

Dr. Graves bag

I found this artist's box at Goodwill for $3.  I decided to make it into a Halloween shadow box thing.  I used mostly G45 - Halloween in Wonderland, Magic of Oz, and Steampunk Debutante.

Ready to Pack!

Here's everything I've crafted in the last 2 1/2 months for the craft show!

The Little Steampunk Halloween mini top hat!

I've been making tons of Halloween mini top hats for our next craft show so I decided I needed one for myself!  I will wear this one at our table.  It's covered in a sheer black fabric with multi-colored stars. I added a Tim Holtz clock face, feathers, a chain, and a copper wire that I made a curly on top of.  Oh, and some netting for a nice veil look.

Harry Potter!!

I found this old book in the trash at the library where I work and thought I would use it for something.  Well, then a friend sent me a link to a Harry Potter poster (by oldredjalopy) and I loved it. I put them together, added a bottle of Felix Felicis (Liquid Luck), a Galleon and a bunch of Harry Potter related papers.  I kinda love how it turned out!!  I made the wand out of some bamboo and wrapped it with leather, then painted the tip with stickles so it looked magical!!

Crow album inside

Here are some of the inside pages of my Halloween album!
The page with the bats has a cut out covered with a sepia tones plastic so you can see the booklet inside.  And this last page is part of a Halloween poster I got at the Dollar Store.  It's one of those that changes when you look at it from different directions - like that ghost disappears and the bat's wings flap.  Very cool, stuff.

Haunted Halloween shadowbox

Got this house shadow box for a couple of bucks at Goodwill.  It is now a Halloween house!  I left room for a couple of photos to be added.

I used the Moxxie line called Midnight Dreary.  The one with the hearse is called Dead On Arrival and the one with the bottles is called Apothe-scary!  I love them both a lot!!!  Oh, the peak is using the reverse of Dead on Arrival - I thought it looked like wallpaper from an attic.
